Thiruvathira Puzhukku

INGREDIENTS:

Van payar (Brown Peas) - 1/2 cup

Tapioca - 1 big

Coconut - 3/4 cup

Cumin seeds - 1/2 tspn

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn

Chilly powder - 1 tspn

Pepper powder - 1/4 tspn

Coconut oil - 1 1/2 tbspn

Curry leaves - a few

Salt - to taste


Get... Set...Go😎😎

Wash the van payar well and pressure cook until done, around 4 to 5 whistles.

Cut the tapioca into small pieces. Wash it well.

Boil the tapioca until half done and drain the water and keep aside.

Put coconut, cumin seeds, one small onion and a little turmeric in the mixer to grind.

Grind all the ingredients well, not too fine and not too coarse.

Once the van payar is cooked add tapioca to it.

Add chilly powder, turmeric powder, pepper powder, salt to the payar and tapioca. Necessary water should also be added.

After adding water bring it to a boil.

Next add the ground paste to it, mix it well and keep cooking.

Cook until the coconut mixture is combined well

Finally add currly leaves and drizzle coconut oil on top and then mix well.

Yummy puzhukku ready. 😎😎
