Palakkadan SambaršŸ˜ŽšŸ˜Ž

INGREDIENTS:

Toor dal - 1/2 cup

Coriander seeds - 2 tbspn

Fenugreek - 1/4 tspn

Asafoetida - a small piece

Red chilly - 8

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn

Coconut - 3 tbspn

Tamarind - size of a lemon

Ash pumpkin - 1/2

Potato - 1

Tomato - 1 small

Onion - 1

Salt

Seasoning:

Mustard

Red chilly

Curry leaves


Get.. Set... GošŸ™‚šŸ™‚

Heat oil. Add a small piece of asafoetida.

Add fenugreek seeds and red chilly and fry well.

Next add the coriander seeds and roast until the rawness goes.

Once done add coconut, combine it well and switch off the stove. keep it aside for cooling.

Once cooled add the fried mixture into the mixer.

Grind to a fine paste and keep it aside.

Cut the required vegetables.

Add necessary water, salt and turmeric powder. Boil the vegetables.

Add the pressure cooked dal and tomato.

Allow it to boil after adding dal and tomato.

Add juice of a lemon sized tamarind.

When the vegetables are almost cooked add the ground mixture and boil for some more time.

Do the seasoning using mustard seeds, red chilly and curry leaves.

Sambar is now ready.😊😊

Goes well with rice and for idly and dosa.šŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļøšŸ‘®ā€ā™€ļø
