INGREDIENTS:

Fish - 800 gms

Small onion - 12 to 15

Garlic - 1 whole pod

Ginger - 1 big piece

Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tspn

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn

Chilly powder - 2 tbspn

Kodampuli - 3 whole

Curry leaves

Salt

Ready with the ingredients🙂

Soak Kodampuli in water for around 15 minutes after washing it well. Then add a cup of water and boil it to extract the juice of it. We will not be using the whole kodampuli for the curry.

Heat Coconut oil. Add 1/4 tspn fenugreek seeds and fry in low flame until brown.

To it add small onion, garlic and ginger cut fine. Fry well until light brown.

Add 1/2 tspn turmeric powder and fry well.

Make a paste of the chilly powder with a little water. Add this chilly paste now and fry well on low flame. Ensure that it does not get burnt or change colour.

Once fried, switch off the stove and allow it to cool.

Grind the fried items into a fine paste.

Add water to the ground paste and pour it into the pot that you will be using to cook.

Ass the juice extracted from kodampuli to this mixture and necessary salt.

When the mixture starts boiling add fish pieces to it. Allow it to cook on medium flame.

Switch off the stove once the fish gets cooked and the gravy thickens.

Heat coconut oil. Add small onion cut fine and curry leaves. Fry this well.

Pour the seasoned ingredients to the fish curry.

Tasty fish curry with a different taste. 😎😎🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Lovely tangy taste and flavour that goes well with rice especially Palakkadan matta rice.🤤🤤
