FISH BIRYANI 😊

INGREDIENTS:

Basmati Rice - 2 cups

Fish - 3/4 kg

Onion - 6

Ginger - a big piece

Garlic - 1 pod

Green chilly - 8

Coriander leaves - one handful

Mint leaves - 1/2 handful

Curd - 3 tbspn

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tspn

Chilly powder - 1 tspn

Garam masala - 1 tspn

Tomato - 3

Cinnamon - 4 to 5 sticks

Cloves - 6

Cardamom - 4

Bay leaves - 2 or 3

Salt - to taste



Ready with ingredients😊😊

Marinate the fish for thirty minutes using chilly powder, turmeric powder and salt.

Heat oil. Fry the marinated fish.

Put coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilly, ginger, garlic, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon sticks into the mixer.

Grind the ingredients into a smooth paste.

Heat oil in a pan and fry onion until golden brown.

Fry until it turns a golden brown.

Add the ground paste now.

Fry the ground paste well until the raw smell goes.

Add tomatoes and fry well.

Fry the tomatoes well.

Add turmeric powder.

Add garam masala.

Fry the powders well.

Add curd now.

Combine the curd well with the fried mixture.

Now add the fried fish pieces.

All the fried fish pieces are added now.

Combine the fish pieces well and keep it aside.

Heat butter in a pan.

Add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon sticks and bay leaves.

Add the soaked and drained rice.

Fry the rice well.

Add hot water to the fried rice. It is 1:2 ratio. For one glass of rice 2 glasses of water.

Switch off the stove when the rice gets cooked.

Now let us start layering to make our biriyani. First fish mixture and on top of it rice.

Continue layering.

Add coriander leaves and butter after each layering. Keep it in low flame for around 15 minutes, like how we make for Dum biryani. Then mix well ensuring that the fish pieces do not break.
